Common European Framework of Reference for Languages

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is a global standard for measuring language ability. It sets out six common reference levels for categorizing language proficiency (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2). All of our programs are based on the CEFR.

  • The Costa Rican Coalition of Development Initiatives (CINDE) and Idioma Internacional have worked together on a variety of strategic projects of significant importance for our organization. One of the most important examples is the CINDE Job Fair, the largest and most important multilingual job fair in the country. Here, thousands of Costa Ricans come to seek job opportunities from multinational companies, which need to measure their language skills before meeting candidates. Idioma Internacional developed an innovative online platform that accomplishes this by skillfully measuring the English and Portuguese proficiency of participants. The results of this and other projects have enabled us to form a productive partnership with Idioma Internacional that has lasted for several years. Our experience with the company has allowed us to consolidate a stable working relationship over time which has constantly evolved to include more complex services.
